In this workshop, your experienced instructor Lisa will guide you through the fundamentals of embroidery — from threading a needle and separating the floss, to exploring various techniques and stitching a featured floral-themed pattern. Depending on your pace, you may need more than one session to complete the entire pattern. With Lisa’s expert guidance, you’ll have a great start and learn essential stitches. You can continue your project at home or book another session with Lisa for further assistance, ensuring you achieve the best possible results for your artwork.

The workshop is held at Lisa’ home studio located at 116 Elgin Point SE, Calgary. You will be greeted with a smile into a welcoming, encouraging atmosphere. This is a safe place with everyone welcome!
Who is it for: Recommended for ages 8 and up. This workshop is perfect for anyone who are eager to learn a new skill while meeting old and new friends. No experience required, all you need is your willingness to learn and have fun!
If you’re attending the workshop with a younger child, we kindly ask that you ensure proper supervision for your child under your care throughout the duration of the class. Feel free to bring your own snacks and water to enjoy during the workshop.
About the artist: For Lisa Van Wert, art has been right by her side throughout her whole life. Whether that be drawing and sketching or the art of language and music and everything in between. While experimenting with various hobbies, none truly resonated until Lisa discovered the world of embroidery. Sharing her profound enthusiasm for embroidery through teaching is a deep-rooted passion for Lisa. Lisa teaches from the heart, from experience and from a place where she absolutely loves to foster happiness and creativity.
