Macrame is the art of tying decorative knots by hand, weaving threads or cords into simple or intricate knots. The word “Macrame” itself is French and means knot. It has ancient origins, used in practical applications like fishing nets and horse reins. In recent times, Macrame has gained popularity as an art form for creating decorative items such as wall hangings, plant hangers, and curtains.
In this hands-on workshop, led by Tamara Hamula – the talented Macrame artist, you will embark on an immersive journey into the art of knotting. You’ll receive step-by-step guidance throughout the process, with personalized assistance to ensure your creation turns out beautifully. Explore intricate techniques and patterns as you craft a stylish and functional wreath hanger that will beautifully adorn your space.
All materials will be provided to participants, along with a complimentary glass of wine upon arrival.

About the artist: Tamara Hamula, a lifelong crafter, maker, and local Calgarian artist. Tamara’s crafting journey took a turn when she fell in love with Macrame and Weaving. What began as a personal passion has evolved into a lifelong dedication. Tamara pours her heart into every creation, ensuring meticulous craftsmanship, with each piece featuring its own distinctive details.
