Handbuilding Pottery: Functional Forms

Get your hands in the clay. Build something beautiful. Make it yours. All ages welcome!
Level: beginner
Ages: 6 and up
There’s something quietly extraordinary about shaping a piece of clay with your own two hands — and watching it become something you’ll actually use. In this two-part workshop, you’ll be guided through the fundamentals of handbuilding pottery in a relaxed, supportive space where curiosity is welcomed and there are no wrong shapes.
Working with coil building, slab rolling, and sculpting techniques, you’ll create your own functional pieces — think cups, bowls, vases, or simple sculptures — entirely your own from start to finish. The first session is dedicated to building and forming your work, while the second brings it all together with glazing and colour before your pieces are kiln-fired and ready to take home.
Part 1: Tuesday, May 26th | 6:00–8:00 PM
Part 2: Tuesday, June 16th | 6:00–8:00 PM
