Join Gurjit for an inspiring art session, where you’ll not only hone your painting skills but also awaken your perception to the captivating realm of genuine, original art.

Texturized Mountain Painting is an art technique that centers on crafting visual and tactile depth within mountain landscapes using an array of textures.

In this class, your art instructor, Gurjit, will expertly guide you through each step to create a featured, texturized mountain painting. You’ll learn to utilize various tools and materials to build up layers, adding dimension to the depiction of mountains. This process enhances the overall visual and sensory experience of the artwork while equipping you with the skills to use acrylic and texturizing mediums on canvas.

Beverage and snack will be provided to each participant, along with art supplies, including an 8×10 inch canvas, palette knife, brushes, acrylic paints, and texturizing medium.

Who is this for: Suitable for ages 12+. No previous painting experience needed. Although some components of this class will be structured, there will be ample room for you to hone your own creativity to gift yourself the joy and freedom of your unique expression.

About the artist: Born in Bedford, England, Gurjit moved with her family at the age of 13 to Calgary, Canada amidst the majestic Rocky Mountains. Here, and through her love of travel and adventure, Gurjit found inspiration that continually shaped her artistic journey. While pursuing her Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Gurjit discovered her passion for art through university art electives. It became her haven, a creative escape from the world of debugging code. What started as a hobby soon blossomed into something more profound as she navigated the twists and turns of life. Through her paintings, Gurjit found solace, peace, and a sanctuary to express her thoughts, emotions, and cherished moments with her family that she wanted to forever hold dear. Each brushstroke became a journal of her trials, tribulations, joys, and the beauty in the world around her.
