Petals & Resin: Jewelry Making

Arrange real dried flowers, pour resin, and leave wearing a set of jewelry you made entirely by hand.

Discover the art of botanical resin jewelry-making — learning to handle resin, work with natural elements, and compose pieces as personal as they are beautiful. Using pre-made jewelry frames, a curated selection of real dried flowers, and pigmented resin in black and white tones, you’ll design and build a complete set from scratch: a ring, a pair of earrings, and a pendant.

You’ll be guided through each step — from placing delicate botanicals with intention to understanding how resin behaves — while leaving plenty of room for your own creative instincts to lead the way. By the end of the session, you’ll walk away with a complete handmade jewelry set and a working understanding of resin and botanical craft — a foundation that’s yours to build on long after the workshop is over.

Designed for anyone who loves nature, handmade objects, and the quiet satisfaction of making something truly their own. No prior experience with resin or jewelry-making is needed — just a curiosity for craft and a willingness to slow down and create. Recommended for ages 12 and up.

Location & Experience: 

Hosted in the ambient space of the Marriott Residence Inn in downtown Calgary, this workshop offers a unique setting for artistic exploration. Further location details will be emailed to registrants upon booking confirmation.

About the artist: Desiree Vasquez is the founder and artist behind Mauricio’s Garden, a botanical jewelry brand based in Alberta. Her work is rooted in a deep personal connection to nature — each piece made from real flowers and leaves she carefully dries and preserves in resin, transforming them into wearable art. Inspired by her father’s garden, Desiree creates in small batches, with close attention to detail and intention. Her pieces are designed to be timeless: a way of carrying a piece of nature with you, wherever you go.
