You’re invited to an exciting photography experience with local professional photographer Alexander DiMattia!
Level: beginner
Ages: 12 and up
For those who are interested to learn the art of photography to capture realistic, breathtaking photos that AI can’t yet fully capture the mood of.
The workshop will begin with a group welcome and introductions, followed by essential instruction on photography principles and techniques necessary to help you shoot what you want. Alexander will guide the group as we stroll through the pathways and streets looking for compositions so you’ll understand what makes for a great shot. He will also encourage you to search for the compositions that speak to you. The kind that gives you those excited butterflies in your stomach when you know you’ve captured the shot that you were looking for using the guiding principles he teaches.
As ideas and exercises are being shared and you’re busy shooting your favorite photos while chatting with your workshop photo buddies, Alexander will provide personalized one-on-one time with each one of you, encouraging you to expand your skillset at your own pace while giving pointers to help you make your photos stand out more and answering your questions. This tailored approach ensures all of you receive dedicated attention and support throughout the workshop so you feel heard knowing you got what you needed to achieve the kinds of photos you were looking for.
What You Need to Bring: All you need is a camera, whether it’s a smartphone or a DSLR/mirrorless camera, and basic familiarity with operating your equipment.
Meeting Point: We’ll meet just outside the Alt Hotel Calgary East Village, by the recreation paths along the Bow River. Please plan to arrive 5 minutes before the walk is scheduled to start.
