In this step-by-step session, you’ll create a stunning 3D stained glass garden stake using the copper foil method. With prepared glass pieces ready for you, you can jump straight into the most fun parts—foiling, soldering, and assembling—while learning Kara’s unique approach to 3D soldering.
Over the course of about three hours, you’ll enjoy personalized guidance in a small group, with all materials and tools provided. By the end of the workshop, you’ll leave not only with a beautiful, one-of-a-kind piece for your garden but also with new skills, confidence, and hands-on experience working with glass, all within a supportive and creative environment where making and learning go hand-in-hand.

About the artist: Kara Bussey is a Calgary-based stained glass artist, known for reimagining glass as both sculpture and statement. Blending traditional copper foil techniques with unconventional materials, her work pushes beyond flat panels into layered, dimensional forms-ranging from intricate botanical sculptures to wearable glass pieces seen on runways and in contemporary exhibitions.
